Dr. Chris Steele MBE

Dr. Chris Steele MBE is a celebrated medical expert and an ambassador for HEART UK, the Cholesterol Charity.

He has been the resident GP on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ for twenty-three years, during which time he has amassed a string of accolades including Health Journalist of the Year (2007) and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Guild of Health Writers (2010).

Dr Chris has been appointed to help to promote the charity’s work on Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH), otherwise known as inherited raised cholesterol, along with cholesterol awareness and the importance of an active lifestyle and good diet in maintaining heart health.

Dr. Chris is passionate about helping to raise awareness of this silent killer due to the fact that, despite leading a healthy life and experiencing no symptoms, during a routine examination a few years ago he discovered that his main coronary artery was partially blocked.

The knowledge that he was a time bomb and could have had a heart attack at any moment has made him more determined than ever to dedicate himself to highlighting the risks of heart disease and inherited conditions that could prove to be fatal.
