HEART UK is passionate about preventing premature deaths caused by high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. We provide expert support, guidance and education to patients, their families and also the healthcare professionals treating the patients. We also lobby for better detection of those at risk.
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Registered Nurse with cardiology experience to assist in dealing with an increasing number of helpline enquiries, which come through all communication channels (calls, emails, letters and social media, including possible live chat). The role will contribute to the Health Care Team’s delivery of the Charity’s advice service for patients, their families, members of the public and healthcare professionals on all issues and queries related to cholesterol and dyslipidaemia which influence cardiovascular disease risk.
You will work as part of a small, dedicated Health Care Team responding to helpline enquiries on a day to day basis and providing accurate, thorough and confidential recording of data. There will be opportunities for you to contribute to topical media enquiries and represent HEART UK at external meetings where appropriate across the UK.
You will hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a qualified Registered Nurse and will have significant experience working in a healthcare setting, ideally in a cardiology department or out-patient clinic. You will have excellent interpersonal and writing skills with the ability to manage and, where appropriate, resolve challenging helpline calls. With a good level of computer literacy, you will have experience of working with databases and have a willingness to take on new skills and challenges in this rewarding role.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who is passionate for our cause. Along with sociable working hours, we can offer you support and the opportunity to develop and to contribute to our overall cause and see the direct impact you are having.
