The Places for People Challenge
Places for People Leisure wholeheartedly got behind National Cholesterol Month with over 45 centres up and down the country taking part!
It's still too early to know how much you have raised for us but thanks to every one of you who took part! Here is a synopsis of what some of the centres got up to!
West Bromwich Leisure Centre had fun with a charity football match and a cycling challenge - they raised a staggering £760.
Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre, (Birmingham), raised an amazing £315 with an indoor cycling challenge. See photogaph below.
Arena Leisure Centre, (Camberley) did a charity leg waxing challenge for HEART UK and raised £200. See photograph below.
Farnborough Leisure Centre did a virtual cycle around the world - and have raised £120 already. CEO Jules Payne attended the centre and got stuck in with the challenge! See photograph below.
King's Centre Leisure Centre (East Grinstead) raised £135 when they did a Double Ironman (running, swimming and cycling).
Parish Wharf Leisure Centre had fun when they turned their swimming pool purple and charged people for the privilege as did the Strode Centre (Clevedon). And, not forgetting the Melksham Blue pools who did a pool Marathon with five members of their fitness team. Watch the video here.
Warminster Leisure Centre did a virtual cycle in the shape of a heart around the Warminster area - a total of 110 miles with staff taking turns to peddle!
Hinkley Leisure Centre invited their Mayor to attend a fun virtual cycle (see photograph above) as well as this they did some special heart classes and pumpkin bowling!
Aston-Cum-Aughton Leisure Centre (Sheffield) did a virtual cycle from their centre in Sheffield down to HEART UK's office in Maidenhead where we greeted them with a virtual cup of tea! (see one of the photographs on our banner above)!
