Cycle for heart health!
Cycling is such a popular pastime, and last year our virtual cycling challenges proved really popular with many people doing the London to Paris virtual cycle! Cycling has so many good health benefits. It’s great fun, keeps you fit, it’s a low-impact form of exercise for all ages and it’s easy to fit into your daily routine. And of course, it does not cost you anything! Why not cycle to work or the shops during October instead of taking the car? Record your miles and you will be surprised how many you do and how much fitter you feel at the end of the month!
Or try one of our fun virtual challenges:
- 'Virtually' Visit the fantastic East coast of America and cycle from New York to Boston – 190 miles
- Go Dutch and cycle from London to Amsterdam – 330 miles – a good flat virtual cycle!
- Fulfil a lifetime dream and cycle from Land’s End to John ‘O Groats – 662 miles - join forces with friends or work colleagues and do this as a team challenge
- For those that are really ambitious try a virtual cycle around Canada’s largest lake – Lake Superior – a mere 1,345 miles – again perfect for a team challenge!
‘I haven’t cycled for years but got asked to participate in a sponsored ride on behalf of HEART UK. Setting up a Just Giving page was really easy and fortunately it’s as easy for people to donate.
I raised over £500 which I’m sure HEART UK will put to good use to help raise awareness of high cholesterol and Familial Hypercholesterolemia (often referred to as FH) and support management of patients too.'
