Round up - National Cholesterol Month 2016

Thanks to everyone who got involved with National Cholesterol Month this October. This was our 7th year of running the campaign and we had more corporate partners and supporters than ever before!  A huge thank you for everyone who raised funds and awareness for us;  we could not do this without your terrific support.  Thanks also to our sponsors Shredded Wheat® and Cheerios Oat Crisp®.  It's still too early for us to know how much we have raised but as soon as we do we will let you know.

Our fantastic corporate partners have had great fun last month with all their ingenious fundraising activities!   Over 45 Places for People Leisure centres got involved with a host of different activities; from an underwater marathon to  football matches and virtual cycling challenges they have all wholeheartedly got involved with raising funds for us!   Thanks too to HEART UK's chef Ambassador Cyrus Todiwala who did a special dish in his Cafe Spice restaurant with a donation to HEART UK, and to patients at Llandoch Hospital who ran some awareness and fundraising events throughout the month.

Dietetic Advisor, Linda Main has been busy all summer creating some delicious new recipes especially for National Cholesterol Month!  Now the weather is changing try some of our winter warming soups or tempting Lemon herb chicken with chickpeas rounded off with a slice of Linda’s Most Scrumptious Tea Bread

Our  Marketing Executive Nicola Streak did her bit for National Cholesterol Month and raised over £300 by doing the Bear Grylls Survival Challenge and other supporters did their own sporting challenges for us including half marathons and 10k challenges.
