HEART UK are delighted to have supported ukactive’s annual National Fitness Day on Wednesday, 26 September 2018. We recognise the importance of being physically active in helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels and support initiatives such as National Fitness Day to help individuals achieve these.
Two of our corporate partners got involved with the day and raised funds for HEART UK.
FLexercise – a new corporate partner – supported National Fitness Day and HEART UK not only on Wednesday 26 September, but throughout the entire week! Over 100 FLexercise classes were part of an exciting ‘Big Step’ challenge to see how many tall buildings they could climb, (virtually)! From The Shard to Big Ben, The Gherkin and even the world’s tallest building, The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the classes counted their steps, had fun, by keeping fit and donating to HEART UK. Find your nearest class here.
Corporate partners, Places Leisure supported HEART UK with activities in over 80 of their centres on National Fitness Day. From free classes throughout the day to exciting fitness challenges, they also be promoted the ‘Flying Start’ initiative - which encourages businesses to allow their employees to start work an hour later and use their extra time to do something active. To enable people to get their day off to a #FlyingStart, sites offered free access to gyms, virtual cycling classes and lane swimming between 7 and 9am.
