Product approval

HEART UK – The Cholesterol Charity - has developed a formal product approval policy.

Why does HEART UK approve certain foods?

We approve foods, and allow our logo to be used on their packaging, in order to help draw attention to those foods and products that can be eaten as part of a heart healthy diet.  Many of the foods we approve actively lower blood cholesterol, a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

How do we do this?

All of the foods that we approve had undergone a formal process of approval that includes rigorous checks and scrutiny by experts in nutrition, blood fats and the food industry.   We check all the relevant scientific and nutritional evidence so you don’t have to.

Here is a list of foods we already approve:

John West oily fish
Flora ProActiv
Whole Earth Hi Oleic Peanut Butter
Cheerios Oat Crisp

Chakki Gold
California Walnuts

How do foods become approved?
