Cheerios Oat Crisp
NESTLÉ CEREALS are delighted to introduce the latest edition to the CHEERIOS franchise: CHEERIOS OAT CRISP and CHEERIOS CINNAMON OAT CRISP.
Deliciously crunchy flakes made with whole grain oats and mixed with light & crispy CHEERIOS, developed to help lower cholesterol! Naturally high in fibre, low in saturated fat and containing oat fibre beta-glucan, CHEERIOS OAT CRISP can help keep hearts healthy.
CHEERIOS OAT CRISP has been specifically developed to include whole grain oats and additional oat fibre. Both varieties provide at least 1/3 of the daily recommended intake of beta-glucan per serving required to have an effect on blood cholesterol, enabling both products to make a claim to help reduce cholesterol. A 40g serving of NESTLÉ CHEERIOS OAT CRISP also provides at least 28% of the NRV of 5 B-vitamins, iron and calcium.
Many breakfast cereals contain added sugar. Despite this they can still make an important contribution to the diet. Breakfast cereals are eaten in relatively small portions meaning that the sugar contribution to the overall diet is small. Under the Department of Health front of pack labelling scheme anything between 5g and 22.5g per 100g is considered medium sugar. Both variants of Cheerios Oat Crisp contain 23g of sugar per 100g so sit just outside this range. One standard bowl of the Cheerios Oat Crisp (40g) would provide just 9g sugar which is less than two teaspoons. If you add 125ml of semi-skimmed milk a standard bowl provides 15g (the other 6g is provided by the milk sugars).
