Oat tikki

Makes 10


½ cup oat bran (20g)
½ cup wheat bran
½  cup grated (raw) cauliflower
½ cup finely chopped spinach
2 medium potatoes peeled, boiled and grated
1 green chilli-chopped
2 tablespoons green coriander-chopped
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon chat masala
2 teaspoons lemon juice
½ teaspoon honey
1-2 tablespoons low fat natural yoghurt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil to brush the pan


  • Mix together the oat bran and wheat bran with all the ingredients except oil and yoghurt
  • Add enough yoghurt to the mixture to bind the mixture into flattened balls - tikkis
  • Heat the non stick frying pan, brush with a little oil and brown the tikkis on both sides on medium heat.
  • Serve hot with mint or tamarind chutney
