Round up - National Cholesterol Month 2018

Thanks to everyone who is getting involved with National Cholesterol Month this October. It is our 10th year of running the campaign and a huge thank you to everyone who is raising funds and awareness for us; we could not do this without your terrific support!

Our main fundraising event, the 100 mile Great Cholesterol Challenge is going really well - many supporters and companies are getting involved – including Becky Wingett who is doing her 100 miles on her horse Bertie and team HEART UK who did a 14 mile team walk and raised over £500.  We have had nearly 100 registrations and we are delghted with the enthusiasm from everyone taking part - doing their miles, feeling fitter, raising funds and having fun.  Thank you all so much.

We are delighted that Cheerios are supporting National Cholesterol Month with a special promotion on Shopmium.*  Purchase a pack of  Cheerios Oat Crisp Original or Cinnamon,  save  money on a pack and Cheerios will also donate 50p for every box sold to HEART UK throughout the promotional period. Cheerios Oat Crisp has been approved by HEART UK and has met the stringent criteria, checks and balances operated by HEART UK's product approval scheme.   

We are really grateful to Amgen who has supported National Cholesterol Month with cholesterol testing events at its offices in Uxbridge and Cambridge as well as fundraising activities.  Amgen staff has raised over £800 with a dress down day, dance classes and heart healthier meals in their restaurants.  

Thanks to celebrity chef Ambassador Cyrus Todiwala for supporting HEART UK during National Cholesterol Month.  For every vegetarian Thali selection served throughout October, Cafe Namaste will donate £2 to HEART UK.  Head to Cafe Spice Namaste to enjoy!

Several of our running friends have laced up and raised funds competing in some Marathons and half Marathons during October. This is a great way to support us; have a look at some of our sporting events and challenges to see if there are any that tempt you!
